Application 24/01642 and 01757 – 7 Ray Park Avenue
Comments on Application 24/01642 and 24/01757 – 7 Ray Park Avenue Extensions and alterations to detached house in Riverside Conservation Area. Remove four mature trees – Conifer x 1, Holly x1, Hornbeam x 1, Ash x1. This is a distinguished Victorian detached house in a Conservation Area. We believe that the proposed scheme will secure the house and character for the future, subject to there being no loss of privacy for the occupants of No. 5 which is located to the south. It is noted that the application form (0164 for the building works states that there is no requirement for work to trees. This is clearly not the case as the subsequent application for tree work (01757) requires the felling of the majority of mature trees on the site. The plans relating to the trees are substandard and there is no supporting arborial report on the state of the trees on site. The setting and screening of the house is enhanced by the surrounding specimens, and we would ask for more detail to be provided on their condition, so that they can be preserved rather than taken down. It is feared that the leafy character of the setting of this dwelling will be lost if the trees are not preserved in a good state of health, if possible.
