Comments on Application 21/00508 - Freebody's Boatyard, Boulters Lock Island

Replacement boatyard workshop, re-siting of jetty, new pathway, docks and slipway.

In principle, we welcome this investment in the long term preservation of river related / leisure activity along the Thames. Our only concern relates to the size and mass of the proposed boatsheds and structures, which may be visually intrusive within the Boulters Lock / Riverside Conservation Area. It is noted that the scheme requires the removal of several mature trees. Consideration should be given to requiring a substantial level of planting /screening to soften the visual impact of this enlarged boat facility.
