Comments on Application 25/01711 – 55 to 57 Moorbridge Road Prior approval for change of use of the ground floor and part of the first floor from Class E to create 5 x dwellings. This application is for Permitted Development rights for change of use to residential from business and would normally be commented upon. However, we object to this proposal because the residential units created do not all meet the Minimum Described National Space Standards. Although described as “studios” it appears from the plans that some are one bed units and should have a minimum living space of 50 m2. Whilst not objecting in principle to the change of use of this building, it is important that the dwellings concerned are not substandard in size. The description and proposed occupancy of each dwelling unit should be made clear and meet the minimum space requirement.
